American actress Chandra Wilson was born on August 27, 1969, in Houston, Texas. Chandra has guest starred on the television shows 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,' 'The Sopranos,' 'Sex in the City' and 'Third Watch.' She is most famous for her role of Dr. Miranda Bailey on the hit television drama 'Grey's Anatomy.' She has also appeared in national television commercials for Blockbuster Video, Burger King, Scope and The United Negro College Fund. Chandra is a graduate of New York University and spent four years training at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. After a decade and a half of popping up in bit movie parts and TV guest spots, Houston-born Chandra Wilson saw her acting career finally take off in 2005 when she was cast as a lead on the ABC medical drama Grey's Anatomy.
